What is the Trustworthy AI Market Map?
The Trustworthy AI Market Map identifies venture-backed companies building technologies that strengthen trust, agency and control across the AI stack. It is designed as a market reference for investors, founders, companies and others tracking the emergence of this category.
What do you mean by “trustworthy AI”?
We look for companies where trust is part of the product or business model, not an add-on. Our selection framework centers on three principles: human agency, trust by design and aligned business models.
What kinds of companies are included?
The map covers companies across seven layers: identity and authentication, data agency and memory, orchestration and interoperability, models, evaluations, guardrails and applications. Companies may sit across more than one layer where their products span different parts of the stack.
How were companies selected?
Companies were surfaced through nominations from participating investors and ecosystem partners, complemented by additional research. Each company was reviewed against common eligibility and exclusion criteria, using public information and, where needed, additional input from nominators.
What are the core selection criteria?
Companies should demonstrate at least one of three characteristics: they strengthen human agency, build trust into the product itself, or operate with a business model aligned with the interests of users and customers. The map also looks for commercial traction and a clear connection between these principles and the company’s core product or business model.
What stages are included?
The map focuses on venture-backed companies from early stage through later-stage venture, including selected companies outside the core stage range where they are particularly relevant to the development of the market.
